How Did I Get Here
Part 1 Fear and the Physical World
Probably the greatest unanswered question for many people, is “how did I get here, really.” Or stated differently, “how could God have created such an imperfect world and peopled it with imperfect people and then put me in the middle of it?” The second most difficult answer to obtain is “why am I here?” And probably the question you don’t ask yourself is “where is it that I think I am?”
You could probably fill a whole encyclopedia with all of the world’s creations myths (like the book of Genesis from the Bible, as one of them) and spend your life trying to read them until you understood the answers well enough and then you could intellectually explain them to someone else. But it will likely never change your experience in this life because the answer to the question is, that the questions are wrong. I have participated in lengthy discussions with some very intelligent people on the subject of first creation and it goes nowhere because it is an intellectual discussion.

Cut! Let's Do That Part Over

I’m walking up to a favorite store of mine. It’s on the street as opposed to a mall or shopping center. I open the door, the scent of new merchandise is reminder that I’ve been here before. I’m on a mission, I’m shopping for a new pillow. I walk the twenty feet inside and go up the four steps to the main store. I’ve been here many times and am more than familiar with its layout. The store consists of two long rooms side by side, separated by a common wall. I go through the first room, it’s the sundries room. Funny name sundries, but that’s what this room has. As I walk through I turn right to go into the second room that has the pillows in back where they always are. The door is closed. There seems to be a problem, but an employee soon gets it open. I survey the pillows. Nothing seems to fit what I’m looking for. I continue through to exit the store looking at the housewares in the second section.. Seems they are having a problem with another door. So I backtrack out to the street the way I came in.
Once back out on the street, I check out my surroundings. Everything is where it always is. A familiar street scene in my life. I notice a creek in the park across the street. Hmm, why haven’t I noticed that before? I guess I’m so focused, I sometimes miss things. Read More...

Forgiveness
Actually, what you are going to read about now is forgiveness. You might think that the above title “Quality” is misleading, but you will understand how quality relates to forgiveness within a few paragraphs. You might not understand what I mean by forgiveness if all you know is a “church” definition of forgiveness. The “church” tends to promote the concept that you CAN do wrong and tries to mitigate this by pardoning your offense once the guilty verdict is reached. This does not work.
You can’t be pardoned for a crime and be innocent any more. This never made sense to me as a boy and now I know why. As I have come to know now from “A Course In Miracles,” that you are actually incapable of ever doing anything such as a “sin” because the truth of who you are is spirit. Think about it…how or why would God ever create anything capable of “wrong.” It doesn’t even make sense. Drop it. Your body, the world and the universe don’t exist in God’s eyes. You made them up. There’s Nothing Out There

A lot of people feel victimized by things or people. Things seem to be happening to you. One of the foundational beliefs that I have come to know is that there is nothing that can happen to you. The fact is that the world is happening, by you. I have always known this idea in the back of mind, some greater wisdom that never allowed me to believe there really was anyone to blame. I actually think that everyone knows this, if they just stop and get silent a bit. Read More...

The Game

I recently saw again a movie called “The Game.” It is about a guy named Nicholas Van Orton (played by Michael Douglas) that is living the extravagantly wealthy life of an investment banker in San Francisco. Although there is nothing more this guy could ever possible want than he already has, he is the height of an emotionally remote and disconnected individual. Immediately at this point, you’re probably thinking….yeah poor bastard. The thing is, when I watched this movie this time, I tool a little deeper look, and I could see myself in him.

In life it is easy to find things that you don’t like. A lot of time is spent deciding how bad things, events or people are. Things of the future are feared. Things in the present are tolerated. Things in the past are often just permanently painful. Today, I am going to talk today about the things of the past.
The past is special. It’s completed. It can’t be changed. When you think about it, what percentage of your mind do you dedicate to either people, things or events? For the most part, the past is usually dominated by memories of people.

Carl Jung and The Course – Part 1
10/25/2010 05:27 PM
by Frank Dobner
Introduction
There are literally thousands of spiritual, intellectual and physical ways to remember your pure being. “A Course in Miracles” is but one of them. One unique aspect of The Course, is its orientation to look within and contemplate drastic shifts in mind back to the natural state of love. It is what distinguishes The Course from many other attempts at the truth.
Carl Jung (Swiss psychiatrist, 1875 – 1961) was also an individual that had the same inclination to look inward, apply consciousness and even act if necessary. He actually stated – “that inner events always set the course for outward events that came my way.” Jung’s work and life situation resulted from asking some internal powerful questions from his youth, that he answered for our benefit throughout his adult life. The essence of The Course, is to find yourself in everything and everyone else. This is essentially what Jung’s whole life was about. His life and work is not only fascinating, but dramatic and brave also Read More...

The Law of Distraction

Why I Wrote This
As I entitled this article, I was not attempting to be witty or clever. Really I want to offer an adjustment to the law of attraction, based on my own experience and wisdom extracted from “A Course in Miracles.” I am writing this, since some of what is being passed around as the law of attraction, is really not serving others well. I led a discussion on this very same subject yesterday evening and I wanted to share a clear idea what is my truth about this inspiring concept that is helpful rather than distracting. I also have a special little bonus for you at the end of this article. Read More...

Connecting The Dots

by Frank Dobner
I have read more books in the last year than in any prior year of my life, looking for answers. I have so many questions to be answered, yet at this plateau of life, surely now is the time for good answers. I spend a lot of time “connecting the dots” at an intellectual, emotional and body level because I have a strong connection to all three. One subject that has seized my attention recently, is the idea that there is a real world in which we participate that we can’t see or touch. This real world is the world where coincidence,

connection, instantaneous communication and source of life really exists. It is also a world which our brute force, physical world obliterates because of our misdirection of awareness. Some people will call this heaven and believe that it must happen only after you are dead. I do believe it is heaven, but don’t believe it needs to happen only later. Read More...
